Print Power Project!
Print Power Project!

Print Power Project! was a weekend long print-based workshop that ran between May 6th-7th in Guelph, Ontario. PPP! was designed to offer a cost-free experience for artists, aged 14-19, to explore the connection between resistance and art through discussion, making, and visiting local creative resources. The intention of this project was to create an opportunity for young artists in Guelph and surrounding areas to connect in a creative and inclusive space. Do-it-yourself printmaking techniques such as photographic transfers, block printing, and self-publishing were introduced the first day. On the second day participants visited Out on the Shelf, LGBTQ+ Library and Publication Studio Guelph. PS Guelph provided an afternoon of bookbinding and paper marbling workshops.

Support for Print Power Project! was provided by the Guelph Arts Council through the Youth Opportunities Award, Out on the Shelf, Publication Studio Guelph, the West End Community Centre, With the Grain Bakery, and Wyndham Art Supplies.
